Saraband Music imports Universale Strings. While standard gauges are produced for each instrument, custom strings can be ordered from .36mm to 3.4mm. Normal lengths for gut strings are 120cm and 180cm. Fretgut comes in 2.4m lengths.

Top quality ram and ox gut is used for strings, with pure silver wire on gut for the overwound strings. Varnished strings are available which protect against sweat, fraying and changes in humidity. Only the types of strings below are available.
