Saraband Music is starting to import Universale Strings. The first order has arrived and you're welcome to place orders any time. Stocks are small but will gradually build up. While standard gauges are produced for each instrument, custom strings can be ordered from .36mm to 3.4mm. Normal lengths are 120cm and 180cm. Fretgut comes in 2.4m lengths. Top quality ram and ox gut is used for strings, with pure silver wire on gut for the overwound strings. Most gut strings are varnished to protect against sweat and changes in humidity.
Types of strings available:
BV: varnished high twist ox gut strings SN: special ox gut strings with quickness of response suitable for mid registers CB: Venice Catlines are suitable for mid registers thanks to their elasticity & softness BA: pure silver wound strings on ox core MBA: pure silver wound gut strings on ram core MBV: varnished high twist ram (male sheep) gut strings MSN: special ram gut strings suitable for mid registers BT: natural fret gut
